About Us

Make healthy food sincerely

"Buddhism is not illusory, it is real and visible." For Dong Xiaoyan, hiring a chef who is good at making delicious vegetarian food, ensuring the freshness and quality of the ingredients, working hard every day, and cooking every dish carefully are the real Buddhism in daily life. "I can eat very simple vegetarian food myself, but for the sake of our guests, for the sentient beings who love delicious food and taste, the dishes in our vegetarian restaurant are also very rich and delicious."

Although Queens Vegan is known for its Chinese vegetarian dishes, the restaurant also offers a variety of sushi and American-style meals such as hamburgers and fries to cater to vegetarians with different dietary habits such as Kosher Certification, hoping to provide services for vegetarians of all ethnicities and religious beliefs.

Braised Tofu

Tofu dishes are the specialty of Mituo vegetarian cuisine, among which the homely braised tofu is the most popular. We select brightly colored, healthy and fresh vegetables: carrots, black fungus, white cauliflower, bright green celery, etc., slice them and blanch them in hot water, leaving a crispy taste and seasonal aroma, and then stew and braise them with tender tofu with a crispy skin. The sauce is salty and sweet, and the whole dish is very delicious with rice.

The signature dish of Mituo Vegetarian Restaurant is braised tofu

How Mi Tuo Vegetarian Was Born on 9/11

In fact, a vegetarian restaurant is also a place of practice. I hope I can keep the mind of chanting Buddha and seriously eat vegetarian food. Dong Xiaoyan, owner of Mituo Vegetarian Restaurant

Therefore, Dong Xiaoyan found an opportunity to buy a restaurant that originally served meat and vowed to promote vegetarianism. On September 11 last year, Mi Tuo Vegetarian Restaurant officially opened. Dong Xiaoyan said that she only wanted to open on Wednesday at that time, but later, after being told by others, she knew the meaning of 911 and the terrorist attacks that occurred in New York on September 11, 2001.

"I am a person who goes with the flow. I hope that the blessings accumulated by the vegetarian restaurant can also flow back to the people who died in the disaster."
